Michael Dudok de Wit fue nominado al Oscar con su film "El monje y el pez" ,hace algunos años pero no recibió la estatuilla. Father and Daughter , ya ha ganado el Premio al mejor Film Independiente en el Festival Internacional de Ottawa 2000; el Gran Premio, en el Festival de Animación Cinanima, 2000; el Gran Premio Narrative Films, en el festival de Cine de Animación de Holanda 2000; y el premio al Mejor Film de Animación Internacional en el Festival de Cortometrajes de Clermont-Ferrand, 2001.

A fantastic animated short by Michael Dudok De Wit.
A monk discovers a fish in a water reservoir nearby the cloister. He becomes obsessed with the fish and does everything he can to catch it. The story gradually becomes symbolic.
