IRONMAN EN PRE-PRODUCCION

Siguiendo con la fiebre de adaptaciones comiqueras, ya se ha largado la prerpoducción de Iron Man. Los Estudios Marvel contrataron a Jon Favreau par dirigir la adaaptación cinematográfica del comic.
Favreau, director de films como Zathura, también se encargará del guión junto a Arthur Marcum y Matt Holloway
La historia giraría en torno a Tony Stark, un inventor que dirige sus empresas y que aparentemente parece tenerlo todo. Aunque durante el día gobierna sus empresas por las noches se convierte en Iron-Man, usando una armadura desarrollada por el mismo lucha contra el crimen y el terrorismo.

Entre los próximos proyectos de los estudios se encuentran la secuela de Hulk, que tendrá un guión de Zak Penn; Ant Man, adaptado por Edgar Wright (Shaun of the dead) y Capitán América, guionizado por David Self (Camino a la perdición).

Según la revista Variety, los presupuestos giirarán entre los 50 y 165 millones de dólares.
Serán distribuidas por Paramount, a excepción de Hulk 2, que quedó a cargo de Universal.
Los estrenos de Iron Man y Hulk 2, serán en 2008, mientras que Capitán América llegará a las pantallas en 2009.

En un inicio Marvel Studios y New Line Cinema anunciaron que Nick Cassavetes dirigiría esta película y se comenzaría a filmar en el 2006. Luego de que este proyecto esté en el aire por mucho tiempo, en el 28 de abril del 2006 Avi Arad anunció que Jon Favreau se hará cargo de la dirección, y la distribuidora será Paramount Pictures. Favreau comenzará la historia con Tony Stark, el hombre que crea la armadura y que luego será Iron Man. El presupuesto es alrededor de $100 millones y se comenzará a filmar en febrero del 2007 en Los Angeles. El artista de comics Adi Granov está trabajando en el diseño del traje, y el artista grafico Brandon Perlow también trabaja en la armadura. El actor que dara vida a Tony Stark /Iron Man será Robert Downey Jr. y se confirmó que Terrence Howard será Jim Rodhes. Robert Downey Jr. comenzara a trabajar en la captura de movimiento durante 8 meses después de completar la fotografía para que los movimientos con la armadura no se vean forzados.

En un artículo publicado ayer en la revista Business 2.0, Avi Arad (presidente de Marvel Studios) ha desvelado quién será el villano de la segunda película de Hulk. La idea inicial de Arad era que el Capitán América protagonizara la primera película producida completamente a través de la propia Marvel, gracias al acuerdo financiero que consiguió firmar el pasado año con Merrill Lynch. Pero eso no va a suceder, ya que el director escogido (cuyo nombre no se ha revelado), no estará disponible hasta el año 2009. Entonces la balanza de inclinó hacia la opción de Hulk. "Tenemos la biblioteca de personajes más valiosa del mercado", comenta Arad. "Tenemos una mala película, Elektra, que lo es porque no tuvimos control creativo sobre ella. Eso no volverá a suceder." Pese a que la primera entrega cinematográfica de Hulk supuso una decepción en la taquilla, se ha decidido retomar al personaje, ya que se sabe qué fue mal y cómo se solucionará el problema. "Se trató de un estudio sobre la rabia, cuando la gente quería una película de palomitas", dice el directivo. El film de Ang Lee se centró en el origen de Hulk (la relación con su padre, el ADN mutado, el accidente de los rayos gamma...). Era oscura e intensa y Banner no se transforma en Hulk hasta pasada la mitad de la película. "Nuestro Hulk será más ligero, centrado en una historia de amor, donde Hulk es un héroe y lucha que tiene contra el villano", afirma Arad. Para enfrentarse al goliat verde se ha escogido a Abominación, uno de los villanos favoritos de Arad. "Es capaz de hacer grandes cosas", afirma. En cualquier caso, la película no se estrenará hasta el año 2008 y, según lo leído, lo es muy probable que lo haga en las salas cinematográficas y no directamente en la distribución en DVD, razón por la que el actor Eric Bana decidió renunciar a protagonizar la segunda entrega de Hulk.
